Donate Food
Food industry partners can make donations to prevent food waste and to help get food to those who need it most.
Surplus Food
By giving surplus food to the food bank instead of letting it go to waste, you can benefit those in need and derive financial benefits for your company. If you’re a farmer, manufacturer, distributor or retailer, the food bank will gladly accept your surplus food.
Virtual Food Drives
Instead of physically collecting non-perishable goods, a virtual food drive collects financial donations that the food bank can use to buy the food we need most, including perishable items like fruit, vegetables, meat and dairy. We’re able to turn every dollar donated into 9 meals’ worth of food!
Traditional Food Drives
If you’re looking to donate food, we recommend hosting a virtual food drive! This is an easy and effective way to provide food where it’s needed the most in our community.
If you would prefer to host a traditional food drive, check out our list of most-needed items to ensure you help us fill any gaps with the items we need the most. Collecting peanut butter is always a great option—it’s a highly requested item!
Food drives do more than stock the food bank’s shelves; they also raise awareness of hunger’s pervasiveness in our local community and mobilize community members to join the fight against hunger.
Food donations can be delivered to any of our warehouses Monday through Friday between 9:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.
Comstock Park Warehouse: 864 West River Center Drive NE, Comstock Park, MI 49321
Cadillac Warehouse: 101 Clay Dr. Cadillac, MI 49601
Retail Food Rescue
Every year, 40% of food produced for people to eat in the U.S. goes to waste. We want to get that food into the hands of those who need it. Grocery rescue helps recover safe, nourishing food from local retail and grocery stores. Rescued food is brought to the food bank’s warehouse to be processed and distributed, or it can be brought directly to one of our agency partners. This agency-enabled retail pickup allows food to stay local, creates opportunities to work with a wider rage of local food donors, and increases the amount of donated food our agency partners receive.
