COMSTOCK PARK, Mich., February 27, 2022 — Feeding America West Michigan received $6,718 in funding from the United Way of Marquette County to support the Mobile Food Pantry program across Marquette County in the Upper Peninsula.
In Marquette County, 1 in 7 neighbors are food insecure. This is about 8,890 people in the community who are in need of food assistance. Each food distribution provides supplemental groceries—including produce, protein, dairy, grains and more—to anyone in need at no charge.
“Feeding America West Michigan is so grateful for the grant funds granted to us by United Way of Marquette County,” said Kenneth Estelle, president and CEO of Feeding America West Michigan. “With these grant funds we are able to provide easily-accessible food to neighbors in Marquette.”
