September is Hunger Action Month, when communities all across America commit to help fight hunger in a variety of ways. If you want to join the fight to end hunger, here are six easy ways you can take action.
Learn about hunger
Here are some resources just one click away to help you have a better understanding of the real impacts hunger has on 1 in 8 people in the state of Michigan.

Create a fundraiser
Set up a challenge for some healthy competition between your friends, family, or co-workers to see who can raise the most money this Hunger Action Month. Learn about the many different ways to fundraise.
Give your time: choose to regularly volunteer at the food bank
With just one hour of volunteering at the food bank, you can help us distribute up to 200 meals! Learn more about volunteering with the food bank at FeedWM.org/volunteer. We couldn’t do this work without the help of dedicated volunteers!
Donate to Feeding America West Michigan
You can donate both funds and food to help change lives this month. Feeding America West Michigan is able to provide 4 meals for every $1 donated, and food donations are so important to help keep our shelves stocked. Consider hosting a food and fund drive to make the biggest impact. For more information, visit FeedWM.org/drive.
Wear orange
Orange is the color representing hunger awareness, so this month, wear your favorite orange gear to help spread awareness to those around you!
Check out @feedingwestmich on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter. You can share any of these six ideas with those who follow you, encourage people to take action alongside you and advocate for our mission. Also, share photos of you wearing orange!
