COMSTOCK PARK, Mich., March 24, 2022 — The Fremont Area Community Foundation—with support from the William and Jeanne Leaver Donor Advised Fund—is providing $76,875 to fight hunger in Newaygo County. These funds will support Feeding America West Michigan’s Mobile Food Pantry program and its partnerships with food pantries and meal programs across the county.

In Newaygo County, 1 in 7 neighbors is food insecure, including 1,810 children. This means they can’t always access or afford enough food to live healthy, active lives. For 14 years, the Fremont Area Community Foundation has supported the food bank’s work, providing nourishing food to countless neighbors.

“I can’t emphasize enough how valuable this partnership has been to the food bank and the neighbors we serve for more than a decade,” said President and CEO Kenneth Estelle. “The Mobile Food Pantry program serves thousands of Newaygo County residents every year in thanks to the foundation’s generous support. Plus, their support helps us provide nourishing food to families via meal programs and traditional food pantries.”
