COMSTOCK PARK, Mich., Aug. 12, 2019 — The Fremont Area Community Foundation has provided Feeding America West Michigan with an $85,000 grant. The funding will help the food bank provide sustenance for the 5,680 Newaygo County residents facing hunger.
Feeding America West Michigan will utilize the funds to supply Mobile Food Pantries and fill the shelves of fixed pantries in the region. Currently, 1 in 8 neighbors face hunger in Newaygo County. Children are even more at risk: 1 in 6 are food insecure.
Since 2007, the Fremont Area Community Foundation has generously supported Feeding America West Michigan, enabling the food bank’s partner agencies to serve these neighbors in need.
